this week has flown by! where does the time go?
seems like i just wrote a blog. haha
but yessss, this past week has been busy! i was volunteering for 7 days in a row and have been so thankful for all that God has revealed to me through this amazing opportunity. i have had many conversations this past week and have been spending a lot of time in prayer for the people i meet and our teams. i have been reminded that God is in control and that i need to trust that he is working through us even though i may not see the fruits of our labour right away. this was an update that Trent and i sent to our church back in Duncan that you may enjoy reading!
"We have been able to see many cool things here at the Olympics. Many of us have had the chance to meet athletes, and other VIP's. We have been able to develop relationships with the staff because we see them every now and then despite the fact that we are assigned to a different team everyday. Even if we have not met them before, chances are high that they have already met another Kaleo student and they somehow know everything about us. We have heard reports about how high-spirited we are and how much joy we have. People really notice that there is something different about us! Many of us have had sweet conversations with non-believers. But we are not satisfied with this. We want to take it to the next level. As we are nearing the halfway mark of this trip, we have decided to finish the other half stronger than the first. We admit, we have been gradually losing focus and have been satisfied with mediocrity. Yes, there are cool things happening but we are losing our thunder. Many of us are tired and our shifts are more like work shifts, we want to go home after the day's work. This is not how it should be at all! We should be making efforts to stay as long as possible with the other volunteers and staff. We should be taking steps of faith by sacrificing our needs for our ministry but we aren't. The opportunities are there but we are either reluctant to pursue them or we are too distracted or tired to see them. Both Jenna and I have been struggling with pushing our comfort zones to that last level and trusting God with our physical needs. We both agree that there is room for improvement in our prayer lives and our devotions."
thank you so much for all your prayers! your involvement is a vital part of our ministry here at the olympics. we could not be doing this without you!
today i had the day off and went for a hike up the Chief here in squamish with part of the WSC crew and Jim. we spent approx 5 hours on this second largest granite monolith in the world. there are three different peaks, the highest being 702m. we went to all three and it was a gorgeous day! it was so amazing looking out over squamish and at the ocean and mountains and all of God's creation. i will add pictures later when i have time to upload them :)
hope you all had a wonderful week and praying that God bless you this coming week!
thanks again for reading my blog :)
miss everyone!
love always <3
PR: Please pray for focus, for discipline, diligence, faith that God will cover the needs of our team. and that we would be seeking out open doors and knocking on those that are closed, pray that eyes would be opened. pray for the people we have met and trust that God is working in them through us.

John 10:10
this past week we have been volunteering at the OLYMPICS!
[Whistler Sliding Centre team]
thank God for this amazing oppertunity. wow!
this past week has been crazy, but im loving it and God is working in SO many ways. we went to the dress rehearsal for the opening ceremony on wednesday night in BC place! there was so many people there and the subway was packed.
[opening ceremonies-photo credit to Jade!]
on thursday we got settled into the church we're staying at- Squamish Baptist. it is about an hour and 15 minutes by bus from the Whistler Sliding Centre where i am positioned. we had friday off so we went exploring around Squamish and had the chance to go up to Shannon falls, it was beautiful! all the mountains here are just lovely! also there is the Chief which is a huge granite(maybe?) rock which is a good hike to the top- 2.5km with 550elevation! i hope to be able to get up it sometime before we leave. a group who had the day off went up today!
... the first day at the sliding centre was on saturday! the competition was mens single luge. it was quite exciting! each morning we sign in and have a brief session with all the volunteers for our venue- event services. we all get a number which pertains to a certain area, such as the entry, arrival, finish, start, and compound. my first two shifts were in the finishing position so i was a spectator marshal- i directed people where there seats were and answered questions. since then i have been in the compound greeting people and i have been a course marshal (got to have control of a radio!), as well as on the arrival team directing people off the buses. i have had so many conversations and God has been really challenging me to go out of my comfort zone. i have learned to look at people with new eyes and just love them as part of God's creation!! being here, i have realized just how much i love everyone here at kaleo and each person i meet, i am intrigued just to talk with them! some shifts there isnt much time to talk with people since they are in a hurry to get to the event but i have had a bunch of conversations just getting to know people and hearing there story and tell them mine! they are so interested in what i believe and what kaleo is all about! i love telling them and meeting new people, i continue to pray for them and that God is working in their life! this is such an incredible oppertunity and i spend time thanking God each day for what he is doing hear at the Olympics. there is also so many stories and a lot happening with our team and the people they interact with at the Olympic Park!
this is just a brief update! ive been so tired with an average of ten hour shifts but
i thank you all for your prayers!! and please continue to pray for all the conversations we have with people we meet and that God's love would just shine through us as his ambassadors! please pray for those of us who are getting tired and that we would not lose focus of our mission here. also for the olympic park team as well as our team in Mexico!
miss and love you all! <3

Hebrews 4:12
heey everyone!
this past week we had intro to theology with Jim Paulson!
Some of the topics we touched on included God's revelation, the doing of theology, the nature of God, the work of God, sin, and humanity. There was a large discussion on the viewpoints of Arminianism and Calvinism... there was many debatable topics. Throughout the week we also had chapels, gym night, as well as worship night which added to the excitement!
This weekend we also had a 48 hour prayer week dedicated to our upcoming ministry trips- one group is going to the Olympics and the other is going to Copper Canyon in Mexico.
I am part of the olympics crew and will be situated at the Whistler Sliding Centre.

We are leaving this Wednesday! We will be there until the 28th. Please pray for our team daily and the people that we will be interacting with!
This Sunday at church I helped out with the younger ages and we learned about Daniel and the lions den. as mentioned last week, we made a prayer team sign up and it was overwhelming to see all the support we received!! what a united church. i am so greatful for this adopted church and to be able to serve them.
i hope you all had a wonderful week :)
and let me know if you have any prayer requests!
loveee always ♥
